Our Architects

Frye, Gillan, Molinaro Architects: The architectural firm of Frye, Gillan, Molinaro was chosen to head up the Defiance Public Library's project because of their experience with restoring and preserving historic Carnegie Library buildings. They are dedicated to not only uncovering the unique beauty and historic presence of Carnegie Libraries but to also ensuring their future as a viable and efficient public building that can remain at the heart of a community for years to come. Our Collective History: Frye, Gillan, Molinaro have also worked with us before to ensure the preservation of our building. They completed a repair and restoration assessment of our Carnegie library in 2004.

• Colorado Historic Society presented Frye, Gillan, Molinaro with their highest Architectural honor: The Stephen H. Hart Restoration and Rehabilitation Award, for their design of the Carnegie Wing of Penrose Branch Library in Colorado Springs.
• The Historic Preservation Alliance of Colorado Springs presented them with the 'Historic Preservation Award.'
• Library Journal, the no. 1 National Publication of Libraries named Lonn Frye as one of the top library architects in the nation.
• Awarded an Illinois Historic Preservation Grant.
