Summer Reading Club:
• Encourages school-age children to continue reading
during the summer
• Six weeks of sessions during June & July
• Weekly Programs two sessions per week

Fourth Grade Program:
For every fourth grade class in Defiance County
Learning stations are set up to teach the students how touse
the
various reference materials
Classes may spend half or all day with the Library personnel
Youth Advisory Board:
• Young people representing schools in the county
• The panel acts as a liaison between the Library and the schools
• Informs the schools and library of special projects
Electronic Library Services On-Line Catalog lists books at Defiance
Public Library and highlights citations.
Multi-media Computers complete with educational games
Internet access for parent and child
School Services Librarians are available to conduct tours for classroom
visitations and share stories. The librarians will also visit classrooms
and present stories and skits for special occasions. Additionally, our
librarians also present programs for teacher and parent groups about the
Library or children's literature.
Step-Up-To-Learning kits are available for teachers in licensed daycare
centers and preschools.
