COVID-19 Tests at DPLS

Updated 3/7/2023: Covid-19 test kits are currently available at all 3 DPLS locations.

Defiance Public Library System is assisting the Ohio Department of Health (ODOH) in distributing antigen self tests free to Ohio residents.

What to know

  • If you are sick, or have been exposed to someone who is sick/experiencing symptoms, please call the library and a test kit will be brought out to your vehicle. If possible, send a family member or friends to pick up your kit(s). Library staff do not assist in administering tests.
  • Tests distributed by DPLS are unproctored and for personal use only; they do not create an official record and cannot be used for travel, return to school, release from quarantine, etc. If you need a test that will provide a documented result, please visit the state’s rapid testing website to find other options.
  • As DPLS receives various brands of tests, it is strongly recommended that you carefully review all instructions or information inside the box.
  • Kits are limited to a total of 4 per household (2 boxes of 2 kits, or 4 boxes of 1 kit). Tests will not be provided directly to employers for the testing of their employees.  The state testing website provides guidance for businesses and other organizations that want to initiate testing programs.
