DPL Featured on “Storied Ground” Podcast

Defiance Public Library was honored to have been featured in a recent episode of the “Storied Ground” podcast with Nick Pavlik on WGTE Public Media. Pavlik is an archivist and public historian at Bowling Green State University who is passionate about engaging with communities to document, preserve, and share local and regional histories. In the series, he endeavors to encounter Northwest Ohio’s historical markers anew, using them as guides to rediscovering the presence of the past everywhere around us, in all its diversity and complexity.

Come along with Nick Pavlik as he discovers what the unique history and architecture of our beloved local library can tell us about the wider legacy of Carnegie libraries in America, with guests Dr. Abigail Van Slyck, Dayton Professor Emeritus of Art History at Connecticut College; Cara Potter, Director of Defiance Public Library System (DPLS); Taryn Lawson, Communications Coordiator at DPLS; and Mike McCann, Mayor of the City of Defiance.
