Digging into a genealogical mystery? The Defiance County Genealogical Society will offer 1-on-1 help sessions to up to 5 individuals on March 4 from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Defiance Public Library. Please bring your research materials, and a laptop, if possible. Registration is required. Register using the form below, or by calling 419-782-1456.

  1. Will be interested in my maternal grandmother’s grandfather- George Witzerman. Have not been able to get past this guy. Emigrated from Germany- settled in Brunersburg area. Later moved to Bryan.

          I will not make it due to last nights storm in Mi. I so hope that this is offered again. My GG Grandfather Elijah Osborn (1795-1870) came from PA to Ohio and settled in Richland Township and married his 2nd wife Catherine Hauser Baker around 1850. Elijah is my brick wall. Would someday love to find out who his father was.
