Grades 1-6 are invited to Defiance Public Library (in the Summer Reading Tent on the Fort Grounds) on June 29 at 10:30 a.m. to participate in this fun STEAM program inspired by the fairytale “The Three Bill Goats Gruff.” Kids can work alone or in groups to engineer their own bridges out of common craft materials. Then, we’ll add billy goats to see which bridge can support the most weight without falling! No registration required. Available while supplies last.

Join us at Defiance Public Library on July 13 at 10:30 a.m. or 4:30 p.m. as we kick off this month’s Harry Potter Movie Marathon series with two showings of “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.”

Then, return July 20 and July 25 at 4:30 p.m. to watch the second and third movies, all leading up to our Harry Potter Birthday Bash on July 27 from 5:00-7:00 PM! Feel free to wear your favorite HP house colors, and bring a covered drink if you wish (we’ll provide popcorn, while supplies last). All ages are welcome, and no registration is required.

Come participate in our fairytale themed fact or fiction at Defiance Public Library (outside in the Summer Reading Tent) on July 18 at 4:30 p.m. & dress to get wet!

We will have a series of true/false trivia questions to see how much you know about all things fairytale related, including classic stories like Cinderella – and newer ones like Shrek. We’ll quiz you about fantastical creatures like dragons, giants, and mermaids, and even your favorite boy wizard at your favorite wizard school. But beware! If you get the answers wrong, prepare to get doused in water like the Wicked Witch of the West!

Geared to grades 1-6, no registration required!
