DPLS will also launch a Disability Representation book resource guide–a list of books featuring characters who have and/or stories involving disabilities. Early Intervention (EI) is a voluntary program for children, birth through age two. EI uses a family approach to address child developmental issues. EI services are individualized and always in the child’s natural environment. Early Intervention is a free service to families and does not have income guideline requirements.The presentation is free and open to all; no registration is needed.

Early Intervention (EI) is a voluntary program for children, birth through age two. EI uses a family approach to address child developmental issues. EI services are individualized and always in the child’s natural environment. A Health Promotion Specialist & a Public Health Nurse from Defiance County Public Health will be available at Defiance Public Library (in the Children’s Room) on March 21 & April 4 from 10 a.m.-noon to answer questions parents may have about their child’s health & development. They will also speak briefly (prior to our regular ‘Read,Rhyme, & Romp’ event) about Women, Infants & Children (WIC), child passenger safety & safe sleep. Geared to parents of children ages 0-5. No registration needed.
